Naturally Sweetened Healthified Cinnamon Rolls!
- 3 Cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 Tbsp Active Dry Yeast
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Cup Warm Water
- 6 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 2 Tbsp Butter (Optional)
- 1 Tsp Cinnamon Powder
- 1 Cup Date Spread (Can also use chopped dates)
Cream Cheese Glaze
- 1/4 Cup Softened Cream Cheese
- 2 Tbsp Milk
- 1 Tbsp Honey
- 1/4 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 4 Tbsp Plant Milk
- 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- In a bowl, combine AP flour, yeast, and sugar. Make a well, and add in warm water and 3 tbsp olive oil. Mix well till a dough forms.
- Place dough onto a floured surface, and knead for 5-10 minutes, adding in 2-3 more tbsp olive oil as you do. Once a smooth ball forms, place it into a well oiled bowl, and cover with a cloth. Place in a warm location for 1-2 hours.
- Once dough has doubled in size, remove it from the bowl and roll it out into a very thin rectangle. Brush on a mixture of cinnamon and olive oil (or you can use melted butter too).
- Add in your @distinct.nutrition date spread in place of sugar (but since it’s not out yet) chopped up dates will work great!
- Roll your rectangle very tight, and then cut into cinnamon roll shapes. Place into a baking dish or muffin tray, and bake in the oven at 400℉ for 15-20 min.
- For the glaze, combine all the ingredients (either cream cheese glaze or vegan) and mix well.
- Add a glaze on top once removed from oven and enjoy!!!
