Elevate Your Lunch Game with The Ultimate Turkey Sandwich!

Ah, the turkey sandwich. A go-to classic that’s perfect for lunch. But what if I told you there’s a way to transform this everyday staple into a culinary masterpiece? Well, hang on to your lunchbox, because we’ve got some secrets to spill.

The Sandwich Revolution

It’s the age of culinary experimentation, where even the simplest of dishes are up for innovation. And when it comes to turkey sandwiches, small changes can yield huge results. The days of bland turkey and soggy bread are behind us. Enter the era of the ultimate turkey sandwich.

Why This Turkey Sandwich?

Now, why should you swap your regular turkey sandwich for this extraordinary creation? Three words: Flavor, texture, and Challah. Yeah, you read that right. Challah bread is the unsung hero that will elevate your sandwich to a whole new stratosphere.

Challah at Your Sandwich

If you’re not familiar with Challah, it’s a slightly sweet, braided Jewish bread. Here’s why it’s perfect for a turkey sandwich:

  • Flavor Balance: Its light sweetness complements the savoriness of the turkey.
  • Texture: Challah is firm enough to hold all your ingredients without turning into a mushy mess.
A Cut Above the Rest

Precision matters, people. When you’re assembling your sandwich, cut your tomatoes, lettuce, and onions thinly. Why? Two reasons:

  1. No More Slippage: Thin slices mean everything stays where it should.
  2. Flavor in Every Bite: With thin slices, each bite is a perfect blend of all ingredients.

The Game-Changing Secret Ingredient

Brace yourself for the secret that will change your sandwich life: Hickory sticks. Yes, you read that right. Adding these crunchy, spiced sticks to your turkey sandwich will:

  • Boost Flavor: A smoky kick that’s irresistible.
  • Add Crunch: A contrasting texture that’s purely addictive.

Customize to Your Heart’s Content

Got dietary restrictions? No worries. Make these easy swaps to keep it compliant:

  • Vegan: Use plant-based turkey slices and vegan mayo.
  • Gluten-Free: Opt for gluten-free Challah or another firm, gluten-free bread.
  • Low-Cal: Use light mayo or a yogurt-based spread.

The Best Turkey Sandwich Ever!

This one epic has (and a few smaller tips) wil take your Turkey Sandwiches from a 'last resort' lunch, do something you'll crave every day!
Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 2 minutes
Course Main Course
Servings 1 Sandwich

  • 3 Slices Turkey Breast
  • 1 Leaf Lettuce
  • 3 Slices Tomato (Thin)
  • 3 Slices Red Onion (Thin)
  • Handful Hickory Sticks
  • 1/2 Tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 2 Slices Challah Toast

  • Toast your bread. Tip #1 is to use Challah toast. I don’t know what it is but it is the only bread I will ever use for a turkey sandwich, it just takes it to a whole new level.
  • Add mayo to both insides of your toasts, and top the bottom one with your turkey breast, lettuce tomatoes and onions. Tip #2 is to cut everything very thinly. The last thing you want is a giant slice of tomato sliding out of your sandwich. Thin slices hold beautifully.
  • Finally for the secret ingredient: Top with a GIANT mountain on hickory sticks. These give your sandwich the perfect splash of spice, flavour and crunch and make it a turkey sandwich that all other turkey sandwiches wish they were 😜
  • Top with your second toast, cut in half (diagonally of course… any other way just doesn’t taste as good), and enjoy!!!
