For Self-Rising Flour Substitute (if you don’t have self rising flour!):
1cupall-purpose flour
1½teaspoonsbaking powder
1teaspoonsalt
For Filling and Topping:
8cubes cream cheeseabout 1 oz/28g each
Avocado oil or any cooking spray
Sesame seedsoptional
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine the self-rising flour (or your homemade mixture) and Greek yogurt until a shaggy dough forms.
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 3-5 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough feels too sticky, dust with a little more flour.
Divide the dough into 8 equal portions.
Take each portion and flatten it into a disc about ¼-inch thick.
Place a cube of cream cheese in the center of each disc.
Carefully pull the edges of the dough up and over the filling, pinching to seal completely.
Roll gently between palms to form smooth balls, place on parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each one.
Spray rolls lightly with oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
Bake for 20 minutes at 375°F (190°C), then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden brown.
Cool slightly before serving. The cream cheese inside will be very hot!
