Ingredients
2CupsChopped Strawberries
2tablespoonChia Seeds
¼teaspoonBaking Soda
1tablespoonMaple Syrup/Honey(Optional)
Instructions
Cut up strawberries. Cut them bigger or smaller based on the consistency you like your jam. Add them to a sauce pan and place them over high heat.
Mix your strawberries over high heat until they release their water and start to soften and bubble (5-7 minutes). Lightly smash your strawberries with your spatula or a fork.
Once your strawberries are soft and bubbly, add in lemon juice and chia seeds and mix well.
Add in the SECRET ingredient, baking soda. It will bubble, mix quickly till all the bubbles are gone and remove from heat. (The baking soda helps to give your jam a great texture and also neutralize any acids in the jam making it easier to digest. It’s also 100% OPTIONAL.)
Allow your jam to fully cool, place in a jar and enjoy!
